Swiss natural skincare: how to recognise it

“Natural” has no legal definition in cosmetics. The surest way to know what is in a soap or a balm is to read its ingredient list. Three pointers are enough.
Read the INCI list
Every cosmetic lists its ingredients by their INCI name, from the most to the least abundant. On a cold process soap, the first names are the oils turned into soap: Sodium Olivate for olive oil, Sodium Cocoate for coconut oil. We publish the full INCI list on every product page.
Check the fragrance
The word “Parfum” in a list stands for a fragrance blend whose components are not given. Essential oils appear under their botanical name, for example Lavandula Angustifolia Oil. None of our products contains “Parfum”: they are scented with essential oils, or not at all.
Know who makes it, and where
Swiss natural skincare should be able to say who makes it and where. Ours comes from our workshop in Avry-sur-Matran, near Fribourg, where we also run cold process soap workshops.
